n|Frame recently broke ground on a new $2 million Indianapolis disaster and workplace recovery center. This initiative will relocate its current DR center to its headquarters in Carmel, Indiana.

Five years after opening one of Indianapolis’ largest commercial disaster and workplace recovery centers, n|Frame is expanding and relocating it to its headquarters facility in Carmel, Indiana. In late January, we broke ground on the new $2 million, 15,000-square foot DR center which will be accessible from our 50,000 square foot Indianapolis data center.

Construction will be complete and the new Indianapolis workplace and disaster recovery center will be fully functionally by May 2011. In the meantime, we will continue to serve our business continuity clients from our original DR center.

This move will consolidate our continually expanding $30 million IT infrastructure that provides commercial data center services, enterprise network management services, cloud computing and virtualization services, and disaster and workplace recovery services.

It makes strategic sense to consolidate our entire operation under one roof, giving our customers more direct access to the technology, people and processes that ensure their systems and applications stay up and running. Over the last 15 years we have continued to invest in our headquarters facility to create one of the state’s largest and most technologically-sophisticated data centers. With this move, our Indianapolis workplace and disaster recovery center will benefit from a 24/7 on-site engineering team, guaranteed power sources, advanced security features as well as multi-carrier access to the Internet and telecommunication systems.

Our new 15,000 square foot Indianapolis workplace and disaster recovery center is designed to offer our clients an alternate corporate command center where their employees can work and the company can continue to operate seamlessly in the event of an emergency (such as a fire or heating/cooling malfunction) or natural disaster. Through this center, our clients have immediate access to nearly 200 professional, furnished work spaces with pre-configured computer stations; live phones connected to a backup telecommunications system; and computer terminals with a direct connection to the corporate network, systems and current data. The entire operation is maintained and backed up through our main data center.

n|Frame prepares businesses for disruptions that last from a few minutes to several days or weeks. Common business interruptions that force companies to shut their doors include power outages, HVAC failure, flooding, sewer backups, roof leaks and pipe bursts. Organizations also can be displaced due to positive business growth initiatives such as major new business wins, seasonal peaks, or mergers and acquisitions that lead to an unexpected need for more space to accommodate additional employees.

Our workplace and disaster recovery solutions are a strong complement to our other technology management services. They allow companies to mitigate the risks associated with short-term and long-term business interruptions, from air conditioning or heating failure to structural damage. While these issues may seem like minor inconveniences, they can quickly create an unbearable work environment that forces an office to shut down. Our new Indianapolis workplace and disaster recovery center offers displaced businesses an alternate site of operation that is configured to immediately support their network, computing, communications and human resource needs.

Companies that currently take advantage of our Indianapolis workplace and disaster recovery solutions include call centers and fulfillment centers, e-commerce businesses, software companies, insurance companies, healthcare organizations, life science companies, colleges and universities and professional services firms such as accounting, law and marketing firms.
